![]() ![]() Once this was done, I was able to assign screens to the two projectors. We began by setting up our surfaces, the rear screen behind our set and the overhead projector meant to provide a wash of video footage to the entire stage. Before we did this, I consulted some resources on learning spaces as well as Youtube so I had some footing in it. After this was finished, we began to work with projection mapping and focus the projectors. Prior to tech week we assembled the rear screen using truss and a PVC screen. This, of course, wasn’t exceptional but it did provide me with some experience working with a situation that wasn’t of usual theatrical conditions. Since our director was updating the QLab up until tech week, I wasn’t able to add the files I had organized until we were teching the show. The assembly of the QLab was also a bit abnormal which posed a challenge. The limited previous experience I had with QLab consisted of the construction of basic sound cues so I was a bit nervous to work with it. Soon after this conversation I realized that I would be working with AV as well as sound since they shared the same software. ![]() Whilst discussing the preliminary set drawings, it was decided that we have a curtain of clothes rigged to catch projections that illustrated the setting of each playlet. My introduction to the projection side of QLab began with the pre-production period of the show.
